A hymn often used during times of invitation, following the proclaimed message, is entitled "Wherever He Leads". The song declares that wherever He leads, I'll go.
That is where we must follow Jesus. Wherever He leads us. That could be to our neighbor across the street or our neighbor in another country. Jesus makes it clear that our first priority is to "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind." Jesus then declares that the second is like it: "Love your neighbor as yourself" (Matthew 22:37-39). These go hand-in-hand.
As we grow in relationship with Jesus, we will be more and more in love with the Father. We express our love for Him through obedience in following Him. Following Him - Wherever He Leads.
