This is Jesus

After Jesus was placed on the cross, there was an inscription placed above His head reading: "THIS IS JESUS - THE KING OF THE JEWS" (Matthew 27:37). It is interesting that although this inscription is totally true, it was placed above Him as His crime. This was not a praise of Jesus but a condemnation of Jesus. Jesus had already endured their beating, their mocking, & their other insults. But this was the ultimate paradox. For the Bible says that there is coming a day when "at the name of Jesus every knee will bow . . . and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of the Father" (Philippians 2:10&11).

Are you mocking Him today or really bowing in surrender to the King? Are you just going through the motions of Jesus as Lord or are you really following Him as your Lord? One preacher once said, "I would rather bow to Jesus now and worship Him now rather than in judgment be forced to bow and proclaim that He is indeed Lord."
