Time has come for God's people to rise up to proclaim the praises of God and the message of salvation to all peoples. This was the very message of Jesus. Mark 1:1-20 records the very early portion of Jesus' earthly ministry. Following His baptism and the 40 days of temptation in the wilderness, Jesus began preaching the good news. He told all, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe in the good news!" (verse 15).
Jesus, the along awaited Messiah, fulfilled the Scriptural prophecy concerning His arrival. This all happened in the fullness of time (Galatians 4:4). Jesus ushered the very kingdom of God into this world - God became flesh (John 1:14). Now, the time has come for His people to be the very presence of God in this world. We are to be His hands, His feet, His voice = His presence.
Jesus proclaimed the gospel message, the good news. To truly embrace the good news - forgiveness of sin and salvation found in Jesus requires a person to repent from their sins and follow Jesus. There is a new life. A change takes place. It is wonderful to see this take place in a person's life. Praise God that He is still in the business of changing lives for His glory.
