Unmatchable Love

Most Christians can quote the great verses of the Bible that tell of God's great love for man. One is certainly found in John 3:16 where we read these all familiar words: "For God love the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life" (emphasis added). Another verse that should be familiar to us is found in Romans 5:8 where it is written: "But God proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us!" (emphasis added).

Wonderful truths for us to reflect on for this Valentine's Day. Today I find myself reading about the events leading up to the arrest of Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane from Matthew 26:26-51. It is in these verses that I was reminded of the "Unmatchable Love" of Jesus for His Father and for each of us. The Scripture states that Jesus spent much time in one-on-one communication with the Father (prayer). At the end of  prayer times we read these words: "Yet not as I will, but as You will" . . . "Your will be done". Do you see it? The unmatchable love of Jesus is that He will surrender His will to fulfill the Father's will. That included suffering and dying the cruel death on the cross for your sin and my sin.

How will you demonstrate "unmatchable love" today? Will you surrender all to the Heavenly Father today? Will you love others the way Jesus loved us all? Will you be the hands and feet of Jesus in unmatchable love?

Praying today for:
