This morning's Bible reading included Genesis 29 & 30; which reveals how Jacob worked for a wife. He worked seven years for the right to marry "Rachel". When the seven years were completed he as given "Leah" instead. That is when he agreed to work another seven years for "Rachel". A total of 14 years. It is at the end of the 14 years that Jacob and Laban discussed how God had blessed them all because of Jacob.
Genesis 30:29 states: "You know what I have done for you and your herds. For you had very little before I came, but now your wealth has increased. The LORD has blessed you because of me." That is really interesting to me. Who can say the same about their life because I have been with them? Who can say the same about their life because you have been with them? Who has been drawn closer to the LORD because of us?
Today let us keep all these things in our minds and hearts. Let us look for opportunities to be a wonderful influence upon those around us to help draw them into the very presence of God.
