Importance of God's Kingdom?

When Jesus His earthly ministry, we are told that He came preaching the Kingdom of Heaven. He would continue to preach about the Kingdom throughout His ministry. One such teaching is found in Matthew 13. Actually, there are many truths revealed in that passage. Today we will consider the following one:

 "The kingdom of heaven is like treasure, buried in a field, that a man found and reburied.
Then in his joy he goes and sells everything he has and buys that field"
(Matthew 13:44).

Notice that Jesus says that the kingdom of heaven is worth forsaking everything else for it. This man was willing to give all just to have the treasure that he had discovered. It didn't matter to him how foolish it might seem to others. It didn't matter to him how others would criticize his decision. He was convinced that this treasure was more than worth whatever he had to give in order to have it.
